Manuella is a certified Physical Education teacher with a Master's Degree in Exercise Science and over 25 years of playing and coaching experience. She is a former international professional volleyball and beach tennis player -- playing volleyball professionally for six years in Brazil, Portugal, and Israel and winning a league championship in Israel in 2011. She has coached at the highest levels of youth volleyball, including leading her U13 team to a National Championship in Brazil in 2012.   She also led her U14 team to a USAV Nationals appearance in M2's first year!

In her career, she has helped hundreds of kids achieve the best version of themselves. Her passion for teaching and life makes her a  great role model for all of the players that cross her path and there is no better person to lead your daughter on her volleyball journey. From beginners to top-level players, you will find that she is the right person to help them grow both on and off the court.

Mauricio

Coach Mauricio has been involved in volleyball since he was 11 years old.  He played every position until his coaches finally moved him to setter, and the rest is history.  He became a professional at a very young age, playing among the best for several years in professional leagues in Brazil, Spain, France, Portugal, Israel, and Turkey, learning every day from players and coaches from all over the world and getting great results.

His proudest accomplishment was being named captain of the Brazilian College National team, and winning a silver medal in the Summer Universiade Olympic Games in Belgrade, Serbia — the best result ever for the Brazilian College National Team.

His deep understanding of the game and close interaction with his coaches over the years led to a natural transition to coaching. It was in coaching that he found his true passion as he was able to share his knowledge and love for the game as he taught new players.

For the past three years, Mauricio he has been coaching junior girls in the US, getting great results on and off the court, while making new friends, and getting tons of great laughs with his players along the way. His objective is to create an amazing environment for kids to learn the game and have fun, while always being competitive.  As he says, kids want to have fun, and winning is much more fun!!

With Coach Mauricio, your daughter has an opportunity to learn from a world-class coach, gain an understanding of the game at a very competitive level, and develop a true love of the sport while having a great time along the way.

Coach Alex

Coach Alex was born and raised near Atlanta, Georgia. She played for ten years as a setter. She attended and played on the volleyball team at Walton High School and she also played club volleyball at North Atlanta Volleyball Club. She is currently a senior at Georgia State University majoring in Exercise Science and Kinesiology and minoring in Psychology. She is also currently coaching middle school volleyball in the fall and has an internship at DexaFit where she does metabolic, bone density, and body composition testing.

Coaching became her passion when she was injured in high school, needed surgery, and could no longer play competitively.  She started by coaching elementary and middle school recreational volleyball. This gave her a way to stay in the sport that she loves and pass her passion on to those interested in playing and learning. She soon found that she felt most at peace when she was coaching and has decided that she wanted to coach long-term at a more competitive level.

Her coaching philosophy involves coaching the player as a whole: physically, mentally, and emotionally. Her goal is to encourage and uplift her players while also pushing them to be their best on and off the court. She is thrilled to be with M2 and cannot wait for many more season to come!

Coach Caprisha

Coach Caprisha was born and raised in East Tennessee in Johnson City. She attended Cumberland University where she was a part of the volleyball team and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She then went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.

She is currently a mental health therapist in Atlanta and this is her 7th year coaching volleyball. While completing both degrees she coached AAU volleyball for ages 15 to 18 and high school volleyball. She enjoys not only coaching volleyball but helping her players find their passion within the sport, creating a competitive but fun environment.

Coaching volleyball is a way Coach Caprisha can help players improve their skills while creating a space for young women to grow mentally, physically, and emotionally. Her main goal each season is to help her players grow as a person and player all while having fun!

She enjoys both indoor and outdoor volleyball and likes to help players develop their skills. She loves teaching fundamentals and ball control.

She is very passionate about the sport and loves to see her players use the tools that she teaches them in the game to be successful.

Coach Thia

Coach Thia is a native of Nashville, TN. She received her Masters in School Counseling at Tennessee State University and Ed.S at Tennessee Tech in Instructional leadership. Little did she know that her first day as a School Counselor was also her first day as a volleyball coach. Since that day, Coach Thia has coached middle, high school and club volleyball for over 18 years, as well as being a cheer coach for 10 years.  Due to the lack of volleyball club exposure that her girls received in Nashville, she and her colleagues started a volleyball club. Coach Thia remained the director of the club for three years, until she relocated to GA five years ago.

She has a daughter who has been playing volleyball since she could walk. Now she is enjoying watching her daughter play the game she loves at M2. Coach Thia’s favorite group of kids to coach are those who are just learning the game of volleyball. For her, this is the best time to teach them to love the game of volleyball and become great student-athletes on and off the court.
